Over the last year there has been an absolute deluge of ebooks and membership sites claiming to be able to show you how to quickly make a fortune from promoting ClickBank affiliate products with AdWords pay per click ads. For most people this is a very fast way to run up a huge bill from AdWords without making a fraction of what they spend. Now I’m not saying that all of these info products are bad, a very small number of them are actually pretty good but the majority of them are not and many are little more than a cruel scam preying on the desperation of buyers in need of an extra income.

The reason why this is not a good way for most people to try to make an extra income online is not because ClickBank products don’t sell (they do!) and it’s not because AdWords isn’t a good way to generate traffic (it is as long as you know what you’re doing). The problem is that to make this work you have to develop some pretty advanced skills and unless you are lucky enough to get it right quickly the process of trial and error can be extremely costly. To even break even with this system you have to be able to

a) Identify ClickBank products that are most likely to sell
b) Find the keywords which are most likely to result in a sale, produce sufficient traffic and have a low enough CPC (Cost Per Click) to be profitable
c) Write AdWords ads which generate targetted traffic from buyers ie encourage people who are likely to buy to click the ads without wasting loads of money on clicks from tyre kickers, freebie hunters and people who are just curious what your ad is about

Those are 3 very complex sets of skills, get 1 of them wrong and you will see your costs going up and up and your profits going nowhere! This is not a system to get involved with unless you can afford to risk several thousand dollars while you learn the required skills.
